The only thing to make this keyboard even better (for me) would be a Topre collaboration/version.
A man can dream and Topre-switches are my personal all-time favorite.
The UHK always reminds me of the μTRON in a certain way. Time to conquer Japan/Asia in a good way.
@Makami How are the rubber palm rests in terms of feel, comfort, texture, softness/hardness, etc.???
Just ordered mine and have been dying for a softer wrist rest option ever since I received my UHK v2 preorder last year with the wood wrist rests!
For rubber it’s actually on the harder side. I’d say the feel is actually comparable to wood but with better grip. If you press down hard enough there is give in the rubber but personally it doesn’t feel too different than wood when i’m using the keyboard.
With this said I prefer it miles above the wood, and I feel like it will personally last longer in better condition than wood has for me. For whatever reason (likely a me issue) wood always tended to lose its finish over time.
If you just like the look of the black palm rests more i’d say get it
