Wanted to share this model I created to incorporate TouchID into the uhk60. Uses the TouchID that can be extracted from the magic keyboard - specifically I used a lightning version since they are more readily available and can be found for cheaper, but from what I’ve seen the usb c version is the same layout, so as long as the port’s ribbon cable is the same, it should work.
It fits the right side above the official module, as close as I could get it to be as reachable as possible. Can of course just plug straight into your computer, but for minimal wires I used an anker hub that I printed a lower profile case for. Allows single wire for keeb, TouchID, and spacemouse with a port to spare - thinking maybe a second version of the touchid module with a female usbc for yubikey.
This is so dope! I was just about post asking if there are any more modules planning to be released!
This would be a great addition. I own all 3 of the modules and don’t find any of them to be super comfortable to use, that I still just frequently use my mouse. I mainly just use the trackpoint module just for the 2 extra buttons.
Not to stray off topic, but what do you think it would take to make a DIY module for a more egro trackball or trackpad? or reposition the trackpoint. I think my biggest issue is that they’re all way too small to use comfortably. I’d say love to tinker with these things and have a 3d printer too. But I was recently looking at the Charybdis or Keyball, which has a much larger trackball.
If I could somehow connect the Apple Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse, I think that would be the best, as the technology in those devices are extremely capable, although the default software is not so much (need 3rd party apps to take full advantage)
