Add-on suggestion: dial

Figured that I might mention a feature request, feel free to ignore, but I figured opening a thread just in case others might also be interested. I own a macropad, which is nice because of the extra shortcut keys but also because of the dials. These dials can incredible when working with video editing software or photoshop.

Might it make sense for UHK to also have an add-on with dials? I totally understand if this is not urgent. But then again, others may also suggest ideas here.

Thanks for the idea!

This is not planned due to the lack of demand. Still, eventually, probably in the far future, we plan to release a module API and documentation to enable people to create modules such as the one you envision.

I do want to add my support behind this module concept. The left side would benefit the most from a rotary encoder cluster, given that the dial combos are often most helpful when using your mouse with the right hand. Video editing, photo editing, flight sim, CAD, animation, and more all benefit greatly from having dial interfacing.

I do feel a dial would go against the principles behind the UHK, or what I see the key one as — never leaving the home row and I don’t see a dial being operated by a thumb?

I would like to see an ortholinear version
