Got the UHK80 the other week. Great. It worked over a wired connection just fine for a while.
Decided to try out Bluetooth. Great. It worked over a wireless connection.
Then came the issue of connecting it to another computer: figured out that it’s still paired to the old computer, and will not pair with a new one until the previous one is disconnected. Tried to plug it back in and force a wired connection, only to find that the documentation says you need to press the reset keys as well. I do that.
Device starts in wired mode, then hops back to Bluetooth mode and connects to nothing. But it still won’t pick up wired connections. Okay, I load up UHK Agent to set the macros for toggling between the Bluetooth modes.
UHK Agent can’t work with the keyboard in Bluetooth mode. So now I’m marooned in this mode.
End up disconnecting both computers again, turning Bluetooth off on both, connecting the keyboard via USB, and hitting reset switches. Okay, that seems to have allowed me to connect in wired mode. Documentation says that you should flash to the most current firmware, okay.
Go into UHK Agent and try to flash the firmware:

Oh, great, the firmware won’t Flash.
Edit: solved in the comments by kareltucek, thank you much.
Hi there!
Not sure what is going on there, but no macros should be needed.
What do you mean by “bluetooth mode”?
What do you mean by “connects to nothing”?
Uhk should connect via usb whenever you connect it to the right half. That alone is sufficient for Agent to work.
The only limit is that at the moment maximum of one active ble hid connection is allowed at a time, which means that in order to pair another one, you need to disconnect the bluetooth on the first one (or turn its bluetooth off).
My main issue is that every time I want to switch between Bluetooth connections, I need to reset the keyboard. Every time I want to switch to wired, I need to reset the keyboard. The only documentation I’ve seen that avoids resetting the keyboard insists that you can program a macro through Agent to manually switch inputs. But that documentation also insists upon flashing the firmware, which simply does not work (with the error message up above).
Any advice or articles you could point me towards? This is endlessly frustrating, and I’d rather not lose the shipping cost to sent it thousands of miles back to Hungary.
Either way, thanks for your reply.
The only documentation I’ve seen
Host switching actions are bound in the fn2 layer by default:
If you would prefer actual documentation, it is described in the keymap tutorial:
But that documentation also insists upon flashing the firmware, which simply does not work
Which documentation exactly?
Do you have both halves connected via the usb when upgrading the firmware, or do you reconnect the cable midway according to the terminal instructions?
Could you maybe post the full flash log?
This is exactly the solution I was looking for. I am now able to switch inputs. Thank you.
Re: the firmware update, I didn’t get far enough in the process before it threw that error. I tried it multiple times after resetting both halves of the keyboard.
Then, I just tried a few minutes ago, and the firmware flashed. Including the left side connection prompt.
Thanks for following up. It looks like your help has solved both of my problems—I appreciate your time and attention.
