Help with tilde ~ and left shift

Thought I’d ask here before bugging support. I am using my keyboard with both macos and linux. Unable to get tilde to work with left shift and experiencing some other issues w/ left shift.

Using QWERTY PC for linux and QWERTY mac for mac, ANSI keyboards. Tilde key is standard backtick/tilde to the left of the “1” key. Holding left shift works as expected for capital letters and symbols but doesn’t work for tilde. results in no output. Backtick works fine (ie same key, no shift). Using right shift however works and results in tilde output. I don’t have shift layer set up or anything assigned to either key that would interfere. Same issue on both mac and linux.

Also noted that left shift plus control does not work. eg LCTRL + LSHIFT + T to reopen a closed tab, does nothing. But using RCTRL + RSHIFT + T works as expected.

I saw someone else suggest assigning tilde in shift layer manually. This is not an acceptable answer. I expect the shift key to work as expected without having to manually set expected functionality in the app. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Also noted that left shift plus other keys does not work.

So LeftShift+a produces a?

It produces “A” as expected. So far I’ve only noted the tilde and ctrl having issues when used with the L shift. Edited above post to be more explicit

If you remap (in Agent) the (hardware) tilde key to send the ‘a’ scancode, does the LShift+tilde also produce ‘A’?

If so, we can rule out hardware issue.

As for host side, what language keymap settings are you using in your OSes?

Same issue regardless of what the scancode is. Can’t get a capital “A” with the left shift. Only right shift. Other keys work with left shift EXCEPT multiple modifier keys (eg ctrl + shift or ctrl + alt). Guess it’s hardware. I’ll contact support.

Yes, sounds like it!
