Intermittent issues UHK60v2

Recently my UHK started behaving erratically.

  1. Sometimes it shows “ERR”
  2. Sometimes the lights turn off completely
  3. Sometimes the lights flicker in and out quickly

When any of the above happens, sometimes the keyboard still works but other times it stops working altogether (Key presses don’t do anything) until I plug it out and back in again.

I tried connecting the keyboard directly to the laptop and I put the two halves together to rule out issues with the connection cable. The problems didn’t go away. The firmware is on version 15.3.0.

Can you recommend any steps or links to troubleshoot this? I see others posting error logs but I don’t know where to find them / how to enable them.

Please start by flashing the firmware from Rst btn hunt2 · UltimateHackingKeyboard/firmware@2c2f058 · GitHub . You may need to be logged in to see the download there.

If it doesn’t go after that, which given the symptoms it probably won’t, then please downgrade and try to find which is the first firmware version that exhibits the issue.

I tested that firmware for two days. The ERR and lights issues went away but from time to time the keyboard isn’t registering key presses anymore.

Any ideas for next steps? If not I can try older firmware versions as suggested.

Thanks for report!

I wanted get back to it today, but didn’t manage. Please subscribe to https://github.com/UltimateHackingKeyboard/firmware/issues/1380 . Ignore the content for the moment. I will post there with new testing firmwares in a couple of days.

Recently my UHK started behaving erratically.

Any idea when it started behaving erratically?

My guess would be that it got introduced with 14.0.0 firmware.

It would be helpful if you could confirm or refute this.

It started when I upgraded to the lastest firmware. Unfortunately I can’t tell you whether it was due to 14.0.0 because I upgraded directly from 13.0.0 to 15.0.1. At least that’s what the logs say.
