This happen to anyone else? It’s only the left side. The only way to fix it is to unplug the cable connecting both halves and that is only temporary.
It happened when I first got it, but was very infrequent. Nothing has changed with my usage, my desk, or peripherals, but lately it has been happening multiple times, every day. It’s incredibly annoying when I am coding, or trying to send a message, reading a PDF – the phantom keypresses cause all sorts of issues depending on what program I am in.
I’ve airdusted, cleaned, updated to the latest firmware. I have no idea what could even cause this.
Adding another data point - I got the following chain of repeated random inputs, but off from the same UHK 60 keyboard+cable that was working dutifully over years.
The issue occurred first randomly, and may repeat up to 3 times within 10 seconds; it then evolved to this long chain of input issued within 3 seconds or less.
Inspirted by the cable issue described in this post, when powered on, I unplugged the cable from the left-helf and reconnected it. This resolved the random input issue.
Though, running entire power cycles on the keyboard (unplugging and pugging back the USB-C cable) weren’t doing anything.
Well, right, but why 12345`? Why no 6 in there (because of a row of keyscan matrix)? And why altering forth and back (rather than staying stuck)?
Another thing to try once someone reproduces it again:
try reconnecting right side module.
then try reconnecting the keycluster.
Does either of these make it stop? (Keycluster has 6 keys. Trying right side module is a control subject, as reconnecting a module itself has a number of side effects.)
I have exactly the same issue. Same sequence of 12345 that keeps repeating endlessly. In my case it does not stop by itself, until I unplug the cable from my PC. It started happening after an Agent update (plus firmware) about a year ago. At first, I thought it might be caused by a faulty AutoHotKey script that is always running in the background. Then I suspected my longer bridge cable. (I so much wish UHK would offer a longer bridge cable for the UHK 60). Going back to the original bridge cable did not solve the problem, though. I tried going back to an earlier Agent/firmwarea version, but it failed repeatedly. At that point, I gave up and have grudgingly resigned to living with it ever since.
It happens so randomly, that there is no telling when it might strike. On bad days, I keep un- and replugging the cable every half hour. Then it might not happen for many days in a row. At some point, I also suspected it might have to do with my y-cable that I use for mouse and UHK. Have not investigated that path further, since my notebook has only 3 ports and I need them for other devices. Do you think it might be worth trying separating mouse from keyboard?
Next time it happens, I will try disconnecting the bridge cable instead. Thank you for your help.
Will get a powered USB-hub and pair my mouse with the other devices, so the UHK can have its own connection exclusively. I know it’s sort of a requirement, anyway.
Now that I think about it, the issue might even have started around the time I got a new mouse, wireless. Which seems counter-intuitive, since the mouse runs on battery (not rechargeable, I have to replace the battery every so often), but the USB-receiver remains in the Y-cable nevertheless.
Another thing worth mentioning: it mostly happens after typing rather sloppily and using multiple modifier keys to trigger selections of words and jumps to end-of-line etc. However, those assignments have been in effect long before the issue started happening.
