So, after (supposedly) ruining my original palm rests with isopropanol, then playing with 3D printing, I finally decided to treat myself to a pair of premium CNC-machined aluminum ones. They look incredible, even if there are a few visible machining marks left:

Most likely way to expensive, but going for something really heavy instead of alumium or leaving a little weight pocket at the bottom could also be a nice touch. Going for the world’s heaviest keyboard armrests 
Doesn’t the aluminium feel cold to the touch? Both wood and rubber palm rests have a certain warm feel to them.

I’ve indeed did a pocket at the bottom to reduce “thermal mass“ of the pads…
I would venture to say they’d probably be the world’s only keyboard armrests…
I’ve been wanting some extended palm rests, but full armrests might be going a bit too far. 
Erm, yep, woops.
On the other hand… looking at some of the images of UHK chair mount setups, I guess nothing is out of the picture
