Spare parts to stock for long-term UHK v2 maintenance (TrackPoint modules etc.)

I’ve been using UHK since the early v1 days (Cherry Reds era). My first UHK v1 is still functioning, and I now have three fully assembled UHK v2 setups (home / office / travel).

I moved across the Pacific in summer 2025 and two TrackPoint modules broke during the move. That got me thinking about long-term maintainability, since I’d like to keep my UHKs running for many years.

What spare parts are actually worth stocking up on?

  • Are TrackPoint modules the main “keep a spare or two” item?
  • Any other parts that tend to fail or are annoying to replace later?

For context, I don’t use many accessories beyond TrackPoint. I’m mostly looking for the “you’ll regret not buying this” spares list—so if the core devs ever ride off into a well-deserved retirement, my UHKs don’t retire with them.

We plan to stock trackpoints in the long term, and don’t plan to retire any time soon, so no worries. :slight_smile:
