I am using UHKv80 via a USB connection. It randomly disconnects at least a few times a day! It is so annoying. Anyone else facing the same issue? How to solve it? It happens with both firmware 13 and the new firmware 14.

Through a hub. I used a kinesis freestyle before and didn’t have the disconnecting issue through a hub.
Using Windows OS
The UHK exposes an unusually sophisticated USB interface which some hubs may not handle. Can you reproduce the issue when directly connecting your UHK to your computer?
I have the same issue with the latest FW (14.0.2) with a USB switch. When I switch between 2 computers, at least 50% of the time the keyboard shows as disconnected. After this I have to switch back and forth again and it usually works (if not, I need another round). After that, there is no problem, it only happens when I am switching between computers.
This never happened with my UHK60 and I had been using that the same way.
Can you reproduce this issue without a USB hub?
I’ve been having this issue for quite a while but only on my (Windows) work laptop. On my Linux desktop, there’s no issue at all.
My setup is a USB C-to-A cable to a Level1Techs KVM switch then to a Caldigit TS4 dock and connected to my work laptop over a thunderbolt cable.
Only on the Windows laptop will I have connections issues and it’s very frequent
I’ve had my UHK80 for almost 3 days now, and I was getting sporadic and increasing disconnections using the C to A adapter that came with the keyboard plugged into a USB A 3.1 port. I haven’t had any since I plugged directly into the USBC port on the back of my computer, but also it’s been too little time for me to say for sure. I’m not OP, but I wanted to throw my limited experience in here as well. I posted in more detail in “UHK80 very unstable” thread.

The connection to my linux desktop is also off of the KVM switch which is connected to the keyboard using a USB C-to-A cable and doesn’t have issues

I still have this issue. Never went away throughout the updates and I’ve had it since March-2025. Only happens on my work/Windows laptop.

We have been trying to debug some related issues on the github, and have now some diagnostics tools for it.
Please follow these instructions and post the logs:

Preparation (uhk60):
When the keyboard stops sending keys to the pc:
- Tap a layer switcher to test whether the uhk still reacts to keys.
- press the reset button on the bottom side of the keyboard.
- Open Agent. You should see a yellow bar with a log. Copy & post it.
uhk80
Preparation:
- Flash uhk-firmware-17.2.0-stuck_hunt_v6.2.tar.gz
- create a macro named
$onInit, with this command:set recoveryKey rightCtrl. (Feel free to substitute a different key.)
When the keyboard stops sending keys to the pc:
- Tap a layer switcher to test whether the uhk still reacts to keys.
- Press the key that you configured above.
- Open Agent. You should see a yellow bar with a log. Copy & post it.
