Hm, I have a (faux) leather deskmat, although only for about two months. So far it’s still looking good. Will see how that will develop over longer time.
I don’t think this is a trouble for even a true leather desk mat - there you don’t have hands on one exact spots hours at a time, so it has pleny of time to dry out properly. I wouldnt expect this to be a problem at all with polyurethane leather.
Maybe I am being paranoid though. Wristwatch straps are made from leather too after all.
And they can become smelly especially if they get soaked in rain and sweat. ![]()
(ask me how I know… no, don’t!)
Ha! I don’t know anything about woodwork, nor I have the equipments to do so. Is there any CAD or document I could give to somebody to make it custom for me? I don’t really like soft wristrests.
Also, why the UHK80 bottom row is custom keycaps? Looks like a lost chance to standardize for normal keycaps ![]()
I’m not afraid of a little funk
. I’ve been looking at the zillions of finishes out there, & I’m probably just gonna go with some light oil & beeswax until it wears in a little. I think I might like it to look a bit distressed anyway. ![]()
