Has anyone any saved setups for UHK80 on Yuzu?
I don’t know how many people will actually like this beautifully hideous design, but here’s my most recent KAM layout converted to the new PBS profile (haven’t ordered them yet). This has (almost) everything needed to be compatible with either the UHK60 or 80, as well as a bunch of extras. Of course, there isn’t really a good option for the UHK80’s very bottom row low-profile thumb keys. If you ask, Yuzu might let you tack on a few PFF profile caps to experiment, but I’m unsure if they’ll be low enough
. The bottom four thumb keys in this design are NOT to be mistaken for the UHK80’s bottom row low-profile keys. It’s just 1.25u/1.75u thumb keys for the UHK60. The longer 2.25u SHIFT/CTRL keys on the right are also for the UHK60.
Notes:
Yuzu’s KAM and Cherry profiles don’t have convex 1.5u caps, so those thumb keys on the UHK80 are uncomfortable IMO. I also feel like the UHK80’s 1.5u MOD/SPACE keys aren’t quite wide enough, and my thumbs tend to rest in the gap between them and the FN keys. If you look at the top thumb keys in my pics below (KAM profile), you’ll notice that to remedy the discomfort, I put 1.75u convex caps on the upper MOD/SPACE keys, and swapped the 1.5u FN caps with 1.25u. As a result, I had to sand down the edge of my touchpad module to prevent it from catching on the space key. I also have to remove one of the MOD/SPACE caps if I want to merge the halves together.
So anyway, I revised the design to switch from KAM, to the PBS profile with all convex options for the upper FN/MOD/SPACE thumb keys here:

These are still solid so you can’t see the RGB through the keys / letters?
Unfortunately, all caps from Yuzu are opaque. FK Custom (Yuzu sister company), has some backlight compatible options though.
The caps from Yuzu are made of dye sublimated PBT plastic (wide color options). AFAIK, transparent PBT plastic doesn’t exist, so backlit PBT caps need to be double-shot (PBT for the main body, and see-through ABS for the legends). It’s not really economically feasible to provide a custom service for double-shot caps because you’d need to make separate molds for each custom design.
FK Custom’s shine-through caps are made of a translucent ABS plastic with a single-color PU coating (black or white), and the legends are made by lasering off the PU coating. Dye sublimation doesn’t work with ABS plastic, hence the limited colors.
